- We read only free/busy time blocks from your calendar — never event titles, descriptions, locations, or attendees.
- Your friends never see your calendar data — only mutual free windows are ever shown.
- We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.
- You can disconnect your calendar or delete your account at any time.
1. Who We Are
HangTime is a product of Ember Rose Tech LLC, a California limited liability company ("Ember Rose Tech," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the HangTime mobile application and any related services (collectively, the "Service").

2. Information We Collect
Account information. When you sign in with Google, Apple, or Microsoft, we receive your name, email address, and a unique identifier from that provider. We use this to create and maintain your HangTime account.
Calendar free/busy data. With your explicit permission, HangTime connects to your calendar provider and reads only free/busy time blocks — whether a time slot is occupied or available. We do not read, store, or process event titles, descriptions, locations, attendees, video links, or any other event content.
App settings and preferences. We store your blackout window configurations, work schedule presets, friend connections, group memberships, minimum duration filters, and other in-app preferences so your settings persist across sessions.
Usage and diagnostics. We collect basic usage analytics (feature usage frequency, crash reports, performance data) to improve the Service. This data does not include calendar content.
Communications. If you contact us for support, we retain that correspondence to resolve your issue.

We do not use your data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or share it for purposes other than those listed above.
4. How Calendar Comparisons Work
When you run a comparison with a friend or group, HangTime:
- Fetches each participant's free/busy blocks from their respective calendar provider in real time.
- Computes the intersection — time windows where all participants are available.
- Returns only those shared windows to the comparison result screen.
- Does not retain the raw free/busy data after the comparison is complete.
No participant ever sees another's individual free/busy schedule. Only the final intersection result is displayed, and only to those in the comparison.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers. We use a limited number of trusted service providers (such as cloud hosting, crash analytics, and push notification infrastructure) who process data on our behalf and are contractually bound to protect it.
- Calendar providers. When you link a calendar, data is retrieved from Google, Microsoft, or Apple under their respective terms. We request the minimum scope necessary (free/busy only).
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Ember Rose Tech, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers. If Ember Rose Tech LLC is acquired or merges with another entity, user data would be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or in-app notice before data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account information and app settings for as long as your account is active. Free/busy data used for comparisons is processed in real time and not stored after the comparison completes.
When you delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you discover a security concern, please contact us at support@emberrosetech.com.
8. Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access. You can view your account information and settings within the app at any time.
- Correction. You can update your display name and preferences in Settings.
- Disconnection. You can disconnect your calendar at any time via Settings → Calendars.
- Deletion. You can delete your account in Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes all your data from our systems within 30 days.
- Data portability. To request a copy of your account data, email support@emberrosetech.com.
California residents may also have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Please contact us to exercise those rights.
9. Children's Privacy
HangTime is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Third-Party Services and Links
HangTime integrates with Google, Microsoft, and Apple for calendar access and sign-in. Use of those services is governed by their respective privacy policies, which we encourage you to review:
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via push notification or email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The "Effective date" at the top of this page reflects when the current version took effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
